University of Minnesota
Minneapolis, MN
AAF's National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) is the premier college advertising competition. It provides more than 2,000 college students with real-world experience by requiring a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign for a corporate sponsor. Schools from each district are selected to present their campaigns to a panel of industry executives at the AAF National Conference.
AAF Fox River board members traveled to Minneapolis MN to assist with the NSAC district level competition on Sunday April 17th. The competition client is JC Penney. The students are tasked with completing a marketing plan, execution tactics and presentation based on the needs outlined by JC Penney. They are then judged by a panel of individuals from the JC Penney marketing department. Past clients have included State Farm Insurance, AOL and Coca-Cola Company.
Eight teams of students from District 8 colleges participated in the competition. District 8 comprises North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The district winner this year is Minnesota State University Moorehead located on the Minnesota/North Dakota border. Their team will be advancing to the National competition in San Diego June 1st-4th.
“This competition continues to amaze me. The talent and drive we have with our students in District 8 is fantastic. Last year The University of Wisconsin Madison took third place at the National level, so we are all hoping MSUM will be in that winners circle this year!” Susan Levitte 2010-2011 AAF Fox River President.
Board members Susan Levitte, Kelly Klemolin and Lisa Zeise assisted NSAC director Frank Stegmeier with logistic support for the event.
